The baby of the family

That's right, the last of the Maxwell clan graduated from HS!  Way to go, Mason!

And his family loves him enough that we braved the cold mountain rain to celebrate the big occasion.

Luckily he treated us with a little guitar action to make it worth it.  You are an awesome musician, Mason! (more on that in a later post...)

And good thing for us his graduation party was mostly indoors, and hence, much better weather.  It was a fun afternoon with lots of food, family and friends.

especially the tasty graduation caps, made by yours truly (and my husband).

Congratulations, Mason!  We can't wait to see all the great things you will accomplish!  Love you!

Never-Ending Birthdays

Remember this birthday and this birthday?  Well, there's still more.  At the beginning of this month, we had a little family birthday get-together to celebrate Corbin, Cyra (my niece), and Colton.

Then on the 17th, Colton officially turned 3 and we had to celebrate again!  So the night before we left for Denver, we spent the evening at Chuck E Cheese's!  Woohoo!
Then back home for presents.  All the "kids" had fun with Colton's new Toy Story Mr. Potato Heads.

And yes, it is never-ending... Stay tuned for more birthday fun when I post about our trip to Denver. :)

Opposite Eggs

Stupendous eggs,
Ridiculous eggs.
Roly-poly, round eggs.
Welthy eggs,
poor eggs.
Hiding, prize-filled, fun eggs.
Painted eggs,
Plain eggs.
Tasty, hard-boiled, yummy eggs.
Local eggs,
Forin eggs.
Hunted by children, sneaky eggs.

White
White is paper towels.
White is a white board.
White is a poster.
White tastes like frozen berries.
White smells like flour.
White sounds like paper crumbling.
White feels like frost bite.
White looks like a name tag.
White makes me happy.
White is spectacular!

I love my mom and dad more than reading.
I love my mom and dad because they help me.
I wish I could always be with my mom and dad.

Color your hair, walk in circles, win prizes.

At the Walk-a-thon for Corbin's school.

Not much to elaborate on. It was a fun evening. Thank goodness for good weather.
Corbin walked 40 laps, Cody walked 25, and Colton walked 5. Russ walked/ran too. I chased the little one, provided the food and drinks, and put money into the the raffle for SUPER baskets of goodies. (No, we didn't win any.)  But we had a good time!

(Cody was half spiderman/half pirate, in case you couldn't tell).

Showing off Dad

Every now and then, the boys get to show off their firefighter dad.  And let me tell you, it is cool to have a dad who is a firefighter when you're in second grade (and preschool and kindergarten and first - I wonder when it wears off?)

Corbin introducing his dad.

Russ giving the rundown on what he wears and why.  He also talked about his day at the firestation, what to do if you or you house is on fire, and when to call 911.

This is Russ reminding them that he is still their friend, even though he sounds like Darth Vader.  They always like this part.

El Seis de Mayo

Yes, we celebrated a day late, but it was still fun.  Thanks to our friends for continuing a great new tradition!  This year was much warmer and much nicer.  Hooray for Mexico!
